Larry Freeman

President

Larry started with Freeman Jewelers full time in the spring of 1967 after attending Gem City College in Quincy, IL. Until Larry returned from school, Freeman Jewelers repair department concentrated primarily on watch repair. As the business continued to grow and jewelry sales became more prominent, it was imperative that a skilled goldsmith was on hand to handle not only general repairs, such as sizing and simple soldering, but custom design and diamond setting also. With more than 40 years experience as a Master Goldsmith, Larry is well known as 'The Ring Maker', custom designing hundreds pieces of jewelry for our customers over the years. When not crafting his next masterpiece, Snappy can be found clowning around with the local Shrine's Clown Troupe.

Bob Freeman

Vice President

Robert Freeman started in the Spring of 1969, attending the same school as older brother Larry, Gem City College in Quincy,IL. At the time, watch repair was still a large part of Freeman Jewelers repair business, so Bob concentrated on the art of watchmaking. He is a certified watch maker with the AWI/NWCC. While Freeman Jewelers has downsized from 3 watchmakers to one through the years due to more popular quartz/analog watch movements, Bob still works on his fair share of pocket watches as well as a number of fine automatic Swiss watches sold today. If you don't find him hunched over your timepiece at the bench, Bob will be looking for his lost shaker of salt, or visiting his home outside Key West, FL.

Sue Freeman-John

Secretary/Treasurer

Susie Freeman-John started with Freeman Jewelers part time at the tender age of 15. She is the youngest of Walt and June's 3 children and the last to join the fold full time. Instead of attending Gem City College for a jewelry trade degree, Susie has always been out front selling. She is educated through correspondence courses at the Gemological Institute of America as a diamond gemologist. And with her engaging personality and uncanny ability to remember nearly all of her customers' purchases through the years, she has positioned herself as the companies' #1 salesperson for several years running. When not seen smiling behind the new showroom counters, Susie can be found on the deck of her lake front home or mingling at Dave's Lake Shack.

Lori Proffitt

Goldsmith/Gem Vision Designer

Lori Proffitt started working at Freeman Jewelers just over 20 years ago after attending Gem City College for an 18 month program. She is a skilled goldsmith and an invaluable part of the Freeman Jewelers team after so many years. The move to our new location ushered in new technology and Lori has become our resident expert on our Digital Goldsmith CAD CAM program. With this new software we (she) can create just about anything you want. Got a 7 Carat Marquise shaped diamond and want a custom made 18 karat yellow gold and platinum ring made? Ask Lori for a design! Lori can be found wrestling with her beautiful Labradoodle named Gordon or planning her next vacation with hard working husband Jim if she isn't designing your next custom piece of jewelry.

Melissa Estes

Sales/Diamond Specialist/Gem Vision Designer

Melissa Estes, Larry Freeman's youngest child, joined Freeman Jewelers sales team in 1992. Melissa has taken correspondence courses through the Gemological Institute of America toward her Diamond Gemologist degree to earn her title as Diamond Specialist. She joined Lori in Iowa to master the Gem Vision CAD CAM design program back in 2005 so she can help create those intricate custom jewelry designs. With more than 16 years of selling experience, Melissa helps Susie with buying decisions when looking at each season's newest fashions. A dedicated mother and wife, when Melissa is not at Freeman Jewelers her two daughters, Izabell and Lillian, treat her like a jungle gym, hanging from each arm!

Robin Turner-Freeman

Sales/Diamond Specialist

Robin Turner-Freeman, Bob Freeman's daughter, began her sales career with Freeman Jewelers in 1994. Robin also studied Diamonds through the Gemological Institute of America with correspondence courses at the same time as Melissa, gaining the title of Diamond Expert. With Robin's keen fashion sense, she is able to help Susie and Melissa with buying duties, picking hip new designs and throwing away the duds! After 14 years selling diamonds and bridal jewelry, Robin excels at her craft when helping young customers find their perfect ring. The proud mother of a 7 year old boy, Cade, Robin tends to fill her free time keeping him busy and out of mischief!

Scott Bultemeyer

Master Goldsmith/Gem Vision Designer/Diamond Setter

Scott Bultemeyer's career change as a goldsmith started at Freeman Jewelers 1996 after attending Gem City College. He started off studying hand engraving, diamond setting and jewelry repair then moved on to watch repair before deciding that was not for him. Scott is an accomplished diamond setter and hand engraver; he also excels at hand carving wax and designing classic, traditional jewelry as well as the extraordinary and unique. Married to Larry's step daughter, Carrie, Scott helps carry the torch as 'the Ring Maker' casting and creating timeless jewelry designs. A dedicated father of two young boys, Zeke and Zane, Scott spends his down time matching wits with his sports guru for a son, Zeke. For the record, Zeke usually wins.

Charles Eichhorn

Master Goldsmith/Lapidary/Diamond Setter/Hand Engraver

Chuck Eichhorn started working for Freeman Jewelers in 2004 but he has more than 29 years experience in the jewelry industry. He is an accomplished hand engraver, lapidary, diamond setter and much more. Chuck graduated from Gem City in Quincy, IL in 1980 and also completed courses in Colored Stones & Gem Identification through GIA. He is currently working on his CADD/CAM associates degree from Ivy Tech and should complete that degree in 2009. When Chuck isn't hauling one of his 3 children around town, you can find him heckling comedians at Snickerz Comedy Club or harrasing the Disc Jockeys at 92.3 the FORT.
